The 20th annual Taste of Reston, produced by the Greater Reston Chamber of Commerce, will be held at beautiful Reston Town Center, on Market Street, Friday and Saturday, June 18 - 19, 2010. Taste of Reston is Northern Virginia's largest outdoor food festival featuring delectable samplings from the region's favorite eateries, live music both days, beer and wine gardens, and fun and games at Kids Corner. Save the date for the Museum's most popular summer event at the Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center, located in Chantilly, VA, near Washington Dulles International Airport. Explore an outdoor aviation display with approximately 50 visiting vintage, recreational, military, and homebuilt aircraft. Talk to pilots and find out what skills are needed to fly. Inside the Center, test your piloting skills in flight simulators, and participate in story time and hands-on activities with the kids. The event is free and open to the public. Parking is $15.

The Northern Virginia Carvers offer free wood carving lessons from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m. at Colvin Run Mill. A nominal fee is charged for wood blanks. Tours of the mill and house are available for fathers accompanied by their children. Grinding demonstrations run from noon to 3 p.m. Starting at noon, you can hand-crank ice cream and sample your efforts for $1.25 a cup. To make a reservation, call 703-759-2771.
